Any discerning Australian property investor should no doubt already be reading the well regarded “Australian Property Investor” magazine. The September 2010 issue did a feature article on the top 100 locations in Australia to invest in real estate. Bathurst real estate made it onto the list. The top 100 list appears in the magazine is in no particular order.
Australian Property Investor: Bathurst makes the Top 100 List
I know of one Bathurst property investor Bruce Bolam who for about twelve years now has specialised in investing in commercial property in Bathurst. He reports that he is still averaging about an 8% return on his investment property portfolio of which the majority of the properties are located in Bathurst (the remainder in Dubbo).
Bruce a long time Bathurst resident, former Bathurst businessman and former Bathurst Mayor says he was not surprised to see Bathurst real estate make it onto the Australian Property Investor top 100 list. Bruce reports that he will be over the coming years selling all his Dubbo commercial real estate. This decision to sell up in Dubbo was not because Dubbo didn’t make it onto the Australian Property Investor Top 100 List, but rather that Bruce is now over seventy years old and he now wants to consolidate the location of all his investment properties to be local to where he lives.
So although the October edition of the Australian Property Investor magazine is almost due out, rush out now to your local newsagent and see if you can still grab a copy of the September edition or try your local library. The Top 100 List is certainly worth having handy as a reference point to research a location where you may not have considered investing in (e.g. Bathurst real estate) and this may apply if you are a well seasoned real estate investor or have just become an Australian property investor.
